This is Martin Mau Kongiwa and Emily. We came to serve at the Ywam Athi River base in 2024. We both love family ministry( our desire is to see families thriving and healed, children grow into what God intended them to be by fulfilling their purpose in life, school ministry (programme for Pastoral Instruction for the protestant-faith Learner). We also serve in practical ways around the base. I, Emily at times help our visitors with the immigration visits( visa extensions, etc).

I am an Electrician based in Ywam Athi River, Kenya. With hands-on experience in troubleshooting and installation, Wilson is passionate about delivering reliable electrical solutions that are safe and efficient. I joined YWAM Athi River in August 2025, where i continued to grow in service, teamwork, and skill. Outside of my profession, I loves sports, with football being one of his favorite game. I also enjoy doing maintenance work and helping in different areas wherever I am needed. My goal is to use my skills and heart for service to make a positive impact in ywam community. I also work with the Dts department of Athiriver base.

Langson and Mary Zulu are passionate family ministry leaders serving at the Athi River Youth With A Mission Base, where they equip individuals, couples, parents, and church leaders to build strong, God-centered families. They also provide leadership for the Family Ministries department across East Africa, overseeing the vision, development, and expansion of the ministry throughout the region. Their ministry focuses on strengthening families through biblical teaching, practical training, seminars, workshops, and mentoring. They are committed to equipping churches and communities with tools that promote healthy marriages, intentional parenting, and Christ-centered family relationships. Driven by a heart to see families transformed, they carry a vision to extend the impact of Family Ministries beyond East Africa, raising and equipping leaders who will champion God’s design for the family across nations.

Greetings in Christ, My name is Faith Cherop, and I am a missionary volunteer serving with Youth With A Mission (YWAM). I am passionate about serving God, discipling others, and helping people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ. In my ministry, I serve in hospitality and housekeeping, helping create a welcoming and comfortable environment for students, staff, and visitors. I believe that serving behind the scenes is an important part of ministry and a practical way of demonstrating God’s love. I am also involved in teaching and mentoring students in the Discipleship Training School (DTS). It is a privilege to walk alongside young people as they deepen their faith, discover their God-given purpose, and prepare for a life of service and mission. One of my greatest passions is studying and teaching the Word of God. I regularly lead Bible studies and enjoy helping others understand Scripture and apply its truths to their daily lives. As I continue to grow in ministry, I look forward to opportunities to teach in the School of Biblical Studies (SBS), where I can help equip students with a deeper knowledge and love for God’s Word. My desire is to see lives transformed through the Gospel, believers strengthened in their faith, and people empowered to fulfill God’s calling on their lives. My name is Missionary Marango. I joined YWAM Athi River in March 2026 as a staff member. I am involved in Discipleship Training School (DTS), evangelism, and missions. I am passionate about knowing God and making Him known through sharing the Gospel and discipling others.

My name is Joseph Simiyu, and I come from Trans-Nzoia County, Kenya. Currently, I am serving at Youth With A Mission (YWAM) Athi River in Machakos County, where I am staffing the Discipleship Training School (DTS). I joined the staff team in November 2025. I am passionate about evangelism and children’s ministry, and I am grateful to God for the opportunity to serve Him through YWAM. Being part of this organization is a privilege, and it has greatly contributed to my personal and spiritual growth. I also have a deep love for nature, especially working with plants and flower seedlings. One of my joys is helping beautify our base through gardening. As the flowers continue to grow and flourish, I believe that in the months and years ahead, our base will become even more beautiful and welcoming. I thank God for His faithfulness and look forward to serving Him and impacting lives through ministry and community here at YWAM Athi River.

Hello! My name is Shaban Abdi. I completed my Discipleship Training School (DTS) at YWAM Athi River and am currently serving as DTS Staff and Work Duty Coordinator. I am also part of the Evangelism Team. I am passionate about knowing God and making Him known through discipleship, missions, and sharing the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

I Kenedy I work with DTS and help in practicalities (Work duty)here in YWAM Athiriver and My wife Divine works with Evagelism,pre-school and helps with practicalities here in the base.

My name is Damaris Mkanyika WoreshaI. I did my DTS in Mombasa base 2010 and now I am staffing the Ffs school in Ath river base and helping in hospitality. 

I am Peter Kinyanjui and I’m working with YWAM Athi River as a staff. I did my DTS in 2024. I will be working with office and kitchen and also environment and evangelism and DTS.

My name is Lacry, I am from Romania. 10 years ago I came to Kenya for the first time and served in 2 tribes in Pocot, then I was impressed by the way the pastor shows God’s love for the unchurched people. Since then I have returned 2 more times, and now God has spoken to me that it is time to come for a longer term (as far as He knows). On my heart are the unchurched peoples with the gospel, the Muslim world, investing in people, discipleship, giving value to people, the health side, helping young people know their gifts, abilities and calling. I love to sit with people and tell stories so my home is open to you and I invite you for tea or cappuccino. Karibu!!

I have been with Athi River Base since 2007. I serve with the DTS, with the Base in General, and also am involved in sports. You can get in touch to speak more.

September 2018 is when I joined Athi River Base. While here, I mostly work in the kitchen, together with the other members of the team, and the duties will range from cooking & clean-up to splitting firewood. We can talk more

We have been in Campus Ministry with YWAM Korea since 2002. Currently we are preparing to pioneer campus ministry with YWAM Athi River Base. We are now learning Swahili because we want to understand and learn more about Kenya. We expect Kenyan students to be trained as disciples of Jesus who change Kenya and the nations.
